Editorial & Corrections Policy
Sourcing standard
An entry publishes only after it passes the Steve Check: at least one primary source (investigator, regulator, operator or airport statement) plus an independent reputable secondary, with date, location, aircraft, operator, outcome and injuries locked. Social posts and rumors can start a lead but never publish an entry. Full detail on the methodology page.
Held entries
Fatal accidents and hull losses without official confirmation, security events, and cases with conflicting core facts are held for Steve’s manual review rather than auto-published.
Language
We describe what was observed and reported. We do not assign cause or blame unless quoting an official report, and we do not name crew or passengers.
Original work
All entries are written in our own words and link to their sources. We do not republish other outlets’ text.
Corrections
Errors are fixed promptly. Material changes are appended to the entry’s Updates log with a date — we don’t silently rewrite history. If a primary source revises core facts, we update or retract the same day. Report an error: [email protected].
Advertising and independence
Ads, sponsors and memberships never decide what is published, how it is labeled, or when it is corrected. Ads are clearly labeled, limited to two placements per page, and never placed inside the facts lists.
